Tales from the Crib
Chaos dominates multiple generations of home-life in author Sue Carbajal's Tales from the Crib. Her paternal grandparents' emigration to the United States, and her maternal grandparents’ economic hardships from the Great Depression made for shaky branches in her family tree. Growing up, Sue strived to be perfect in an attempt to shore up and calm down the chaos. As she got older, she realized the best way to heal was to embrace the girl raised in chaos and give her grace. When two of her young children were diagnosed with autism, Sue saw an opportunity to heal herself and also give her kids a more peaceful home life. She explored new ways of parenting, finding support in sharing her journey with others. Tales from the Crib is a story of life-in-progress. It is a book about ongoing discovery, not about a magic formula or quick fix. Tales from the Crib portrays daily life at its most open - and what it means to lead yourself and your family through chaos into . . . .well, she'll let you know if she gets there.
