How to Assemble an Activist
"Hope is a responsibility. You cultivate it in order to share it with others. It cannot be a private possession. It only blooms when given away." So writes Saul Austerlitz in his latest work, How to Assemble an Activist. His book, a candid personal account of an unexpected immersion in activism following the election of Donald Trump in 2016, combined with a series of practical, actionable strategies, delivers a vital message for this moment in American history. His story is a study of both the setbacks and the triumphs inherent to political work, and ultimately delivers an uplifting account of how individual actions can spark meaningful change.
